THE HOXTON IS COMING TO BROOKLYN NEW YORK IN LATE 2016
The Hoxton will be opening in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, one of New York’s most exciting neighborhoods. It is The Hoxton’s first move in what promises to be more expansion into the US. The Hoxton currently has two hotels in London – The Hoxton, Shoreditch and The Hoxton, Holborn. The Hoxton’s first international opening was The Hoxton, Amsterdam.
The Hoxton started doing things differently back in 2006 with The Hoxton, Shoreditch. Labeled the “anti-hotel”, The Hoxton took away things that annoyed people about traditional hotels such as expensive mini-bars and paying for water and internet. They changed the hotel model and proved that style didn’t need to be sacrificed for value. This is still very much at the heart of what The Hoxton does today.
Each hotel is individual, incorporating the uniqueness of their neighborhoods using local designers, artists, illustrators for everything from interiors to wallpaper, art and neighborhood guides. The Hoxton, Williamsburg is on the original site of the Rosenwach factory, makers of the iconic wooden water towers dotted along the skyline of New York City. The 175 rooms will have four room categories: Shoebox, Snug, Cozy and Roomy.
While each of The Hoxton hotels is designed differently, each room comes with the same Hox Perks. That’s free Wi-Fi, one hour of international phone calls, a fridge stocked with water and fresh milk – which can be filled from the lobby shop at supermarket prices – and a light breakfast bag. Each hotel also has its own bespoke range of Pen and Ink scents, designed and illustrated by a local artist and perfumer.
The Apartment, an innovative meeting and event space, is found in every Hoxton. A collection of individually designed meeting rooms set around an open plan pantry kitchen, the space puts users at ease by creating a residential feel. All-inclusive pricing means access to all audio visual equipment and unlimited visits to the pantry, fully stocked with soft drinks, hot drinks and sweet treats.
The Hoxton, Williamsburg’s restaurants, along with The Apartment meeting and events space, will be run in collaboration with Soho House & co.
The Hoxton has never just been about selling bedrooms; it gives each person who comes through the doors an experience: a chance to hang out with the locals and discover the neighborhoods. Hoxtown, The Hoxton’s signature monthly events program gives local creatives a space to showcase their work, from fashion and music to technology and art. Visitors to The Hoxton will know they are in the heart of what’s new and current in the vibrant Williamsburg neighborhood.
