THE HOXTON IS HOT FOR PARIS, BROOKLYN AND BEYOND

Since opening its first hotel in Shoreditch back in 2006, The Hoxton Hotel (owned by the Ennismore group) has grown up. A pioneer of the glocal hotel (global hotels with a community mindset) scene, the hotel has grown from mere hipster-drenched bolthole to spanning hotel empire, with hotels now in Holborn and Amsterdam. And that’s just the beginning. Later this year, the Hoxton Hotel will be planting its flag first in Paris, then Williamsburg.

First up, The Hoxton Paris, set to open in late spring, will be located in the 2nd arrondissement, occupying a former 18th Century ‘hôtel particular’. The grand building, like its Amsterdam counterpart, has been given a light-handed facelift, maintaining many original features, from the original Parisian façade spiral staircases to the courtyards and glazed lobbies. The hotel will house 172 rooms, a restaurant, speakeasy, salon bar and café.

Following in the summer will be The Hoxton, Williamsburg. Its first American property, occupying an old factory, will house 175 rooms, three restaurants – a bar and lobby incorporating an exterior courtyard at ground level, an external terrace at 2nd floor level, and a rooftop bar and restaurant – and The Apartment, a meeting and events space.

Both hotels, like the existing Hoxtons, are set to be destinations for travellers and locals alike, thanks to not only to their bars, restaurants and freelance-friendly spaces, but also their signature monthly events programme, which give creative locals a space to showcase their work.

Oh, and rumour has it The Hoxton, LA is soon to follow. Watch this space…
