That was fast! Fresh from the merger deal that gave them ownership in Morgans Hotel Group, sbe has just announced its newest hotel project–Hyde Resort & Residences Coachella Valley. Yes, the same Coachella just outside Palm Springs where the Coachella Music Festival happens every April.

And this Hyde is planning to do Coachella in a big way. Initial specs on the project include six freestanding luxury villas, 48 other villas surrounding the pool and gardens, 153 two-bedroom condo units, a whopping 360 guest rooms and a plethora of F&B options. sbe, which also runs SLS Hotels, recently tapped Ontario, California-based design firm DesignAgency to envision the desert Hyde look (fingers crossed for flower crowns!) DesignAgency also handled the Hyde Lounge at the T-Mobile Arena in Los Angeles. Oh and in case you need a refresher, Hyde is/was an sbe nightclub brand that’s being spun-off into a hotel brand.

Hyde Resort & Residences Coachella Valley should debut in 2017, hopefully before the music festival kicks off.

As for the other Hyde Hotels that are in the works, Hyde Hotel and Residences in Midtown Miami is also expected to open in 2017 with a Hollywood, Florida location set to open later in 2019. Where else will Hyde go seek? We bet NYC and LA aren’t too far behind.
