ANDAZ HOTELS WILL OPEN IN SCOTTSDALE NEXT

2 -min. read

If we’re all very good little girls and boys, Andaz Hotels may open their next hotel just in time for Christmas. But there won’t be any snow falling outside the window as the next Andaz is planned for Scottsdale, Arizona.

Andaz has yet to go public with their desert plans but after hearing a little whisper last week, we did some digging and came upon this–a liquor license application. In it, the name of the business seeking the application is the Andaz Scottsdale resort. The address is listed as 6160 North Scottsdale Road in Paradise Valley. The resort used to be known as the Scottsdale Cottonwoods Resort, but it should transform into an Andaz by December. Yes, this December.

There’s a lot of legal mumbo jumbo in the application that may not interest you, but thanks to some layouts, we did see that Andaz will have a lobby bar, a restaurant with a patio, and a pool bar. Those are not innovative F&B concepts but still, this news is beyond exciting. While Scottsdale and Phoenix have no shortage of hotels, there are very few “cool” and design-oriented hotels (like The Saguaro and Hotel Valley Ho.) Also, we’re huge fans of the Andaz brand and what they do, starting with personalized check-in, free minibar snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, and free WiFi.

There’s no mention of Andaz Scottsdale on the Andaz website, but we’ll be keeping our eyes out for it. Meanwhile, we’re already planning out our Desert in December outfits. Not heading to Arizona anytime soon? Don’t fret. Andaz has few more openings lined up for 2016–Palm Springs, Ottawa, and Riviera Maya.
