Anouska Hempel, the sultry design visionary behind sexy boutique hotels like Blakes London, Dylan Amsterdam and the now-closed Hempel Hotel in London, is making another hotel comeback with the Hotel Franklin, opening on August 9.

Located in Knightsbridge within a row of Victorian-era townhouses, the Franklin has just 35 rooms and suites designed by Hempel and which feature Italian Rubelli velvet and taffeta, embroidered wall-coverings, queen or king sized beds featuring Frette linen, Samsung flatscreens with bluetooth technology, and spacious bathrooms with Penhaligon’s amenities. We’re especially loving the myriad of mirrored frames throughout the room. Sexy, but classy, just like Anouska herself. But perhaps the most alluring amenity is actually the view of the Egerton Gardens out back.

The luxury hotel, which is part of the Italy’s collection StarHotels, will also feature fare from Michelin-star chef Alfredo Russo, who will be doing Italian, of course. Anouska’s first hotel comeback came in 2007, with the Warapuru resort in Brazil, a few years after she was forced into a silent advisor role at her own company. In the meantime, she’s kept herself in high demand with residential, retail, and restaurant projects.

Introductory rates for The Franklin start at a refreshingly reasonable £350 for a superior room, £400 for a deluxe room and £650 for the junior suite.
