A new year comes with new beginnings and, in the hotel world, new hotel brands. Brands that will revolutionise, reimagine, and otherwise forever alter the industry of course, because what is a brand launch without a little hyperbole? Hilton already gave us ‘Tru by Hilton’ as its 13th (!) brand to reinvent the mid-scale ‘millennial mindset’ market, along with the very profound ‘Ooh. Wow. Bam.’ and lots of neon colours.

Slightly more subdued, and setting its sights on the contemporary boutique segment, is Amastan Hotels, which will bring the first ‘curated home for the cultured traveller’ to its home city of Paris in March.

Amastan Room Rendering 1

On a quiet street that connects rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré and the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, Amastan will have 24 rooms spread over six floors. Petrol blue herringbone parquet floors are featured in both the rooms and public spaces – and return on the walls as well. The rest is all clean white in contrast, with a mixture of wood, copper and brass in the furniture.

Amastan Bathroom Rendering

Bathrooms are clad in light marble, and rooms at the back of the hotel overlook a garden with some having private balconies.

Amastan Room Rendering 2

Bar and ‘nighstpot’ Anouk is on the ground floor and has outdoor seating in the private garden. A project space will feature pop-up installations and projects from ‘the worlds of art, fashion and design’.

Pre-bookings are being taken over email at the moment as the website is not live yet, but this should change soon. With Paris being le début for Amastan, we’ll wait to hear where is next for the new hotel group as well.
