We told you back in October that QT Hotels’ expansion game was on point, with properties on Sydney’s Bondi Beach and in Wellington and Melbourne in the works.

Just a few months later than planned, the quirky Australian brand’s Bondi property – its second in Sydney – is now open. Taking over the former Swiss Grand hotel, the QT Bondi Beach has 69 contemporary studios and suites, all with kitchenettes.

It’s a very current mix of white walls, light hardwood floors and pops of colour in the carpet and accessories.

Artwork throughout the hotel is curated by London-based Australian artist Shaun Gladwell, with ‘new-media and video lobby installations’ – which looks something like the below.

QT Bondi is part of the Pacific Bondi development, which will have a number of restaurants and shops along the Campbell Parade. Rates for a Deluxe King start at AUD380 (about £187 / €246 / $266 at the moment) on a weekend early February.

While QT Wellington should be opening next month, a website isn’t up yet, nor is it listed as an upcoming destination – but Bondi wasn’t either back in October, so that can change quickly. QT Melbourne is set for ‘late 2016’.
