Capping off a week of exciting hotel announcements comes news that SLS Hotels will open a new property in Washington, D.C. The project, located at Fifth and Eye streets NW, won’t open until 2019 but when it does, it will have a 198-room SLS Lux Hotel, along with 59 SLS-branded condominiums. It will also have the easiest name to write out–SLS D.C. Done and done. And we wouldn’t be surprised if SLS’s favorite chef, José Andrés, who’s based in D.C., will have a new concept or at least an outpost of his Bazaar brand for this SLS.

Andrés is already planning to open a Bazaar at the SLS New York, which should open sometime this year. (Fingers crossed.) Meanwhile, SLS LUX Brickell is set for a 2017 opening, as is SLS LUX Philadelphia and SLS LUX Seattle.

But SLS is also gearing up to open/manage FIVE hotels in Mexico. Take a look at what they’ve got planned for south of the border.

The first of these hotels (we’re not sure which) will also open in 2017. Vamanos!
