What better way to kick off the holiday season than with a brand-new W Hotel?

It’s been a year since the announcement that W Hotels would take over the Lux Tower at the SLS Las Vegas but at last, W Las Vegas is primping for a December 1 opening. Much of the hotel tower will remain unchanged from the SLS days. The 289 rooms will still have their Philippe Starck design flair, with the addition of a few W-esque pillows and blankets on the bed. However, W guests will have their own super sleek private entrance, access to a second-floor AWAY spa, and the option of swanning around in the W’s new rooftop pool.

And since this is Vegas, most of the fun that happens here (and stays here, obvi) happens downstairs on the casino floor. SLS has some of the most stylish-looking slot machines and table games in town, as well as some of the choicest restaurants in town including Bazaar Meat by José Andrés, Katsuya, Cleo, and Umami Burger, Beer Garden and Sportsbook. Three nightclubs and two bars (our fave is the elegant Monkey Bar) along with an all-day coffee bar and a 24-hour café round out the dining and nightlife options.

Even better, rates start at just $184 a night on opening weekend. You know what that means? More money to spend on slots! Or, shots! Or both!
