Giving back never sounded so good.

Ace Hotel has long been a fan of Martin Guitar, often placing a Martin Guitar in their guest rooms (from London to Pittsburgh) for some impromptu jam sessions. Indeed, Martin Guitar is the “official guitar” for the indie hotel brand.

Martin has also been the hotel group’s partner for their 5 at 5 live music performances at Ace Hotel New York and Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles. And now Martin is joining Ace for another duet, the newly announced String Theory with Doug Hream Blunt.

This is an event-based music outreach program that will feature performances from lo-fi soul artist Blunt (of the NY-based record label Luaka Bop.) Each one of Blunt’s shows will benefit local adult education and music therapy centers. Word is Ace is also promising to gift Martin guitars at the end of each show to a few lucky attendees.

But that’s not all. Ace and Martin have also teamed up for the Ace x Martin High Note Micro-Granting Program, which will give micro grants to musicians in Pittsburgh and New Orleans, two cities that Ace says has “palpable lack of arts fundings.” Musicians will be nominated through an open-call process in collaboration with local organizations in Pittsburgh and New Orleans. The grants will be given to artists to further their musical efforts and endeavors. And hopefully, come back to an Ace Hotel and give a rocking performance.
