Like hotel bars but feel guilty for not being at the gym instead? Mondrian London at Sea Containers has the answer this summer when uber-gym Equinox (which we told you is moving into hotels itself) does its residency at rooftop bar Rumpus Room. Whether it’s boxing, ballet, or a good old boot camp, it gives you the chance to work out in a space bang on the river Thames with views stretching from the City to Westminster.

We assume that some of the blood-red sofas and purple velvet chairs will move out of the way, but the classes do include a continental brunch and juices afterwards. The options are:

Boxing on Saturday, May 7

The power of boxing works to create or enhance boxing skills, building strength and endurance through an innovative sequence of boxing drills, shadow boxing, kickboxing, jump rope and a variety of core strengthening exercises, resulting in a fast paced, no-nonsense workout. Coach Robert Lynch will be taking participants through their paces, an experienced trainer of pro-Muay Thai fighters

Gold Barre on Saturday 11 June

Gold Barre, launched by Equinox in January 2016, is inspired by Olympic Gold Medallist Tara Lapinski and teaches individuals to train like Olympic ice skaters off-the-ice. Taught by Miranda Menzies, the class puts strength, balance, power and endurance to the test with a sequence of exercises designed to mimic the footwork, spins and jumps typically performed on ice, delivering an intensity beyond what is experienced in a traditional barre class.

Bootcamp on Saturday, July 9

This high-performance class comprises an hour of intense cardio sports drills fused with strength training and exercises designed to help you achieve flawless functional fitness. One hour, one workout, one way to change your body – coached by Anthony Fletcher, will certainly pack a punch.

Each class runs from 10am-11am and costs £35.

The Equinox residency at Mondrian London is part of a wider focus on wellness from Morgans Hotel Group this year. Through a partnership with Mindfulness Everywhere, guests can get access to 10 complimentary meditation guides from the buddhify app, which offers guided meditations tailored to the answer to the question ‘What are you doing?’.

Aside from the Equinox classes, Rumpus Room has sunrise yoga every Monday morning between 7.30-8.30am, featuring a mix of Ashtanga, Hatha and Vinyasa.
