THE REBELS 2015 JUDGE – LISA LEONE
VP OF ARTISTIC PROGRAMS, NATIONAL YOUNGARTS FOUNDATION
“What I want out of a ‘contemporary luxury’ travel experience is comfort and beauty, to be visually fulfilled at every glance. A place where the staff is warm, where you can easily navigate and feel like home… but better!”
Born in the Bronx, New York, Lisa started her career as a photographer shooting musicians and personalities such as Moby, Lauryn Hill and Spike Lee, before starting cinematography work shooting music videos for artists TLC, Heavy D, D’Angelo and The Brand New Heavies. Lisa attributes much of her career success to her mentor, Stanley Kubrick, with whom she worked on ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, before making her writing and directing debut with ‘Exactly’ – which went on to be selected for the Tribeca, Sundance and London Film Festivals. Now, as Vice President of Artistic Programs of the National YoungArts Foundation, she guides the artistic vision of the organisation, which recognises and nurtures the nation’s most talented young artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts. Currently, Lisa is working on her own feature film, additional productions with Ms. Tomei and photography exhibitions in Paris and Berlin.
