We’re entering a new age of consumer consciousness where activism is at the top of the agenda and brands taking a stand is no longer an option, but a necessity. Today’s travellers want to know you have a purpose behind what you do.

At LE Miami, we’re all about championing causes and encouraging rebellious brands to speak out and take action the things that matter most – to them and their guests. Here’s how some of our Collective are pursuing their purpose and stepping up the fight for a truly equal society.

I REBEL FOR AN EQUAL SOCIETY

REBEL: Kimpton
CAUSE: Championing the LGBTQ community

As well as being the first hotel company to score a perfect 100% on the HRC Corporate Equality index, Kimpton are also the Premier National Hotel Partner for The Trevor Project – a crisis and suicide prevention lifeline for at-risk LGBTQ youth. They’re all about dispelling judgement and effecting real, positive change.

Alongside co-working spaces and a members’ club, this mould-breaking hotel also houses a lecture theatre to host events and speakers – from creative visionaries to non-profit activists. It’s a centre geared towards social change, inspired by younger generations but for anyone interested in learning how to give back.

REBEL: Andaz
CAUSE: Fighting back against HIV/AIDS

AIDS is the leading cause of death among young women worldwide, with the virus still ripping through disadvantaged communities in Africa, so Andaz teamed up with HIV/AIDS charity (RED) to create (ANDAZ)RED experiences in their properties across the world. When guests choose to purchase one of these dedicated products, 30% of profits go towards (RED)’s inspiring crusade to support vulnerable girls fighting the disease.

The boutique brand also works with Groundswell to create collaborative public arts projects in their local communities.
