Associate Director, Brand Partnerships and Experiences – Cadillac
The associate director of brand partnerships and experiences for Cadillac, Nathan Tan is a former college lacrosse player, former doctor-in- training and two-time entrepreneur – and that was all before he even got into the car-marketing business. Previously the founder of the Forgetful Gentleman brand, a platform of products and services for dressing, etiquette and gift- giving that “would stand in the gap to help men become better versions of themselves,” Tan zagged back into the corporate world by joining Mercedes-Benz as supervisor of brand strategy and advertising just as the company was introducing the CLA entry-level sedan in the U.S. in 2013. He produced the hit Super Bowl ad for the nameplate that starred Usher and Willem Dafoe. He joined Cadillac in early 2015 after leaving a position at Mercedes-Benz, where his role involves thought leadership in brand strategy, experiential marketing, auto shows, the Cadillac House brand experience center, and the brand’s relationships with partners ranging from American Airlines to fashion designer Jason Wu. Tan still harbors hopes of reaching his lifetime ambition of visiting 150 countries – he’s at 54 and counting.

Creator – Urban Cowboy
Lyon Porter exploded on to the hospitality scene with his first project, The Urban Cowboy B&B in Brooklyn, New York. This rock and roll bed B&B landed him on every glossy publication that covers travel and design when it opened in 2014 and created an almost cult-like following amongst its admirers. Lyon personally designs all of his hotels and is passionate about creating unique environments for experiential travelers. He specializes in desigining communal spaces that feel less like a hotel, and more like a home away from home. For his second act, Porter packed up his 1989 Jeep Wagoneer and vintage Airstream and headed to Nashville to make his mark. Set in a luxurious 1890s Victorian Mansion, Urban Cowboy Nashville has become the preeminent destination for the creative class when visiting Music City. With a style that Porter calls “Southwestern Deco” and The Public House Bar and Kitchen out back, Urban Cowboy Nashville is redefining the experience of what a Boutique Hotel can be for a new generation of travelers.
