WE WANT YOUR BIG IDEAS AT THE MINISTRY OF IDEAS 2016

2 -min. read

LE’s Ministry of Ideas was born out of rebellion – rather than talking about the trends in travel (just like every other industry conference), we wanted to inspire them. Over the past three editions we’ve brought you an eclectic line-up of fascinating influencers from both within and outside of the travel industry, speaking on a range of topics designed to get our collective going.

But, as in any young relationship, it takes time and great communication to work out which buttons to press. This year, we invited your feedback on the Ministry of Ideas – and this is what we learned:

  • You’ve just landed in Miami and it’s SUNNY! What’s with going indoors?
  • After a year of separation, you want to catch up with your mates – so why are we shoving you in a conference room to sit in silence?
  • Sure, these outside influencers are interesting; but wouldn’t it also be great to hear what you, the collective (ergo the greatest minds in the industry), have to say?

So, over the past twelve months Serge, Cj and the LE team have been re-imagining the Ministry of Ideas. We toyed with different conference models, until we asked ourselves: What would Uber or Airbnb do?

Taking inspiration from the shared economy, we figured that the modern conference should be about giving the audience freedom to create their own experience – including the speakers, the topics, and the conversations that follow. Far from telling you what to do or who to listen to, our role should be to curate a guest list of rebellious, innovative minds and give you all an inspiring platform on which to create.

So that’s exactly what we’re doing. This year, LE will host the travel industry’s first ‘un-conference’: giving YOU the chance to share your Big Ideas that could change the future of travel.

Master of the Ministry Josh Wagner is counting on you…

We want YOU to tell us your Big Ideas – and we’ll put the most informed, inspired and downright provocative rebels on stage to present their Big Idea to the LE collective at the Ministry of Ideas on 6 June.

You’ll have four minutes to impress in front of the whole collective, before carrying on the conversation by facilitating your own workshop in the dedicated breakout cabanas. Oh, did we forget to mention? We’re ditching the stuffy conference hall and going poolside at SLS South Beach.

APPLICATIONS OPEN 28 APRIL: WE’LL BE LOOKING FOR A ONE-MINUTE VIDEO OR A 5-SLIDE POWERPOINT PRESENTATION OUTLINING YOUR BIG IDEA, SO GET THINKING…

Just your average conference hall 😉🙌🏼
